Hastings Hockey Rental Policy

The HHB will provide Learn Hockey players with skates, helmets, elbow pads, breezers, and shin pads, if needed to the extent possible. Please note this does NOT include required Neck Laceration Protection. This program is to be used as a temporary solution to equipment needs. The Equipment will be issued at the beginning of the season and must be turned in on the last day of play. A $250 deposit check is required to receive the equipment and it will be shredded or returned upon request when the equipment is returned to HHB in good condition, less normal wear and tear. Failure to return the equipment within 1 week upon request from the Director of Operations, or within 3 weeks of the last team game, scrimmage, or practice will result in the cashing of the deposit check.

 

Any In-House (including Squirts), U6, U8, or U10 player(s) that would need to rent skates, shin pads, elbow pads, helmets, along with shoulder pads and breezers (if available) will be charged a $75 rental fee for the hockey season.  This program is to be used as a temporary solution to equipment needs. Parents must make an effort to purchase their own equipment as soon as possible.  Equipment will be issued at the beginning of the season and must be turned in on the last day of play. A $175 deposit check for these levels renting equipment is required. The check will be shredded or returned upon request when the equipment is returned to HHB in good condition, less normal wear and tear. Failure to return the equipment within 1 week upon request from the Director of Operations, or within 3 weeks of the last team game, scrimmage, or practice will result in the cashing of the deposit check. 

Those skaters in need to rent equipment for spring/summer/fall leagues will require a new rental fee of $75.00, deposit check of $175.00, and updated agreement to be signed.

HHB Rental Gear

All those who would like or need to rent gear for the 2025-2026 season sessions will be held at the dates and times listed below. Please contact Cory Ferdig with any questions. Two checks will be required to rent equipment for the rental fee and deposit check. 

Sept 16th and 17th from 6 to 8 pm.

 

Equipment Handout

Basic equipment for Learn Hockey will be handed out at the Hastings Civic Arena. Neck guard laceration protection is not supplied/provided by Hastings Hockey Association. 

Tues Oct 28th 5-7pm Upstairs equipment room 

Wed Oct 29th 5-7pm Upstairs equipment room 

Neck Laceration Procection (NLPs)

All players, including goalkeepers, in all age classifications are required to wear a HECC-certified neck laceration protector, that covers as much of the neck area as possible, and are recommended to wear cut-resistant socks, sleeves or undergarments.

USA Hockey strongly recommends that Adult players wear a HECC-certified neck laceration protector designed for that purpose that covers as much of the neck area as possible and are also recommended to wear cut-resistant socks, sleeves or undergarments.

USA Hockey strongly recommends that players, including goalkeepers, who are 18 years of age and older wear a neck laceration protector designed for that purpose that covers as much of the neck area as possible.

(Note) In addition to HECC-certified neck laceration protectors, BNQ-certified neck laceration protectors will fulfill this rule through the 2026-27 USA Hockey season.
