Mites

What our season will look like...

The Hastings mite program,  has been designed to introduce new skaters to hockey and progressively develop and challenge skaters for up to 5 years during the critical foundational years for youth hockey.

The goals of the program are simple:

  • Fun for all ages and abilities.
  • Progressive, age-appropriate skills and drills.
  • Experienced, well-trained coaches.
  • Fundamental skating development/repetition.
  • Continued edge work progressions
  • Introducing game like situations and drill for our mite 2 players.
  • Pushing our players to make each repetition better then the last and push them outside their comfort zone for sake of development.
  • Making sure each practice is designed in a way that will challenge players all while keeping the game fun.

-Mite 2 will skate Thursdays and Sundays as well as every other Saturday

-Mite 1 will skate Mondays and Saturdays.

-We will use the 3-1 ratio, 3 practices for every one game day. Game days will consist of 3v 3 cross ice as well as some 4v4 half ice for our mite 2s.
