Hastings Hockey Volunteer Agreement

Locker Room Monitors

To Parents and Guardians of Hockey Players:

If you plan to be a locker room monitor at any time this season you will need to either provide proof that you have had a Minnesota Hockey Background Check and Safe Sport Certification within the last 2 years or take the classes to become current in each one. The Background check and Certification are good for only 2 years, if you are unsure if you are up to date the links below will guide you through the process to find out. If you are not current or have not done either item in the past you will need to do them. This is your responsibility to be current on both items and provide the Association that you are.

Volunteer Requirements

The Hastings Hockey Association is a volunteer organization that relies on the volunteer assistance of all its members. To ensure everyone is doing their part each set of parents/guardians will be required to complete volunteer credits based on level of play, with a maximum of 20 credits per family. The Director of Volunteers will determine what qualifies as a volunteer credit. Volunteer credits will be tracked utilizing the online DIBS system through the HHB website. The credits and deposits are as follows:

Learn To Play Hockey: 2 Credits per player/no deposit
Mites I, Mites II & U8: 8 credits per player/will be invoiced additional $350 on March 29th 2024 if Dibs have not been completed
Squirts, U10-U15, Peewees, Bantams & Jr. Gold/U16: 8 credits per player/will be invoiced additional $350 on March 29 if Dibs have not been completed
Volunteer buyout: If you do not wish to volunteer, there is the option of a buyout. In order to buyout, you must select during the registration process. The cost to buyout will be $350 and is due at the time of sign up.

BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR ALL COACHES, MANAGERS AND LOCKER ROOM MONITORS

All Coaches, Managers, and Locker Room Monitors must complete a Background Check through Minnesota Hockey. Background Checks can be completed on-line at https://www.usahockey.com/backgroundscreen or by downloading, completing, and turning in to the level Director. Background checks are good for 2 years.

For the 2024-2025 season we will be using the DIBS system to assign and track our volunteer opportunities. You will be asked to login in to the Hastings Hockey website to view and claim all available volunteer opportunities.

You will login using the account and password used to register your player(s).

PLEASE DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT.

Click on the DIBS tab located at the top of the screen, then log in. Available DIBS sessions will appear.

Click on the DIBS sessions to view available shifts
Click on each shift for further details and instructions, then Click "Claim this dib item" to sign-up for the shift

You can search each DIB session using either the list view or calendar view.

If shifts are posted more than one month from the current view, they will not appear under the list view unless the search dates are extended. If no shifts appear after changing the search parameters, all of the shifts for that session have already been filled.

To cancel a claimed shift, access your claimed DIB item through tools in the upper left hand corner (this feature will only appear if you are logged in) or by clicking on Dibs on the right hand side of the page and then "My Dibs".

Select the claimed item you would like to cancel and then select "Cancel this dib item". Your DIB item will be automatically be cancelled or your request will be sent to the Volunteer Director administering the DIB session.

If your request to cancel is within 3 days of the event, please send the request to cancel to volunteers@hastingshockey.com.
