Thanksgiving is almost here, but there's still time to sign up for an 8k or 2k race at Gobblegait!  This would be a great team-building exercise, in addition to helping raise money for Hastings Family Service.  Go to www.gobblegait.com for more information. 

The 08-09 Hockey registration is now closed.  If you have not registerered and would still like to play hockey, you will need to contact the level director for age of your child and obtain their permission.  A $50 late fee for In-House players will be assessed and $100 late fee for traveling teams will be assessed.  See the Board page on the left for a list of level directors.  

Jr. Gold Registration Still Open: 
Jr. Gold players can continue to register without a late fee until the first day of tryouts.

Elections are not until February, but now is the perfect time to start thinking about running for an open Board position.  Each year half the board comes up for election.  This year the President position will be open.  The current President has announced that he will not seek another term as president and encourages others to consider taking on this opportunity.

For 2006-07 hockey season, USA Hockey instituted a New Standard of Play and Rules Enforcement. Last year, the NHL drove the no-tolerance initiative (hooking, holding, obstruction, etc.) with success and USA Hockey has adopted the standard.

The Hastings Hockey Association has been working with all its coaches and traveling teams to ensure an understanding of the standards USA Hockey has implemented.  We encourage everyone to watch this short 11 minute video and see some of the difference you can expect this season.  The better we understand these new standard, the less likely misunderstandings will happen.
